While Korean National final was being held, Chinese National Final was completed at the same time, at Renmin University in Beijing. The official games for WCG 2006 Chinese National Final include StarCraft: BroodWar, WarCraft III:Frozen Throne, FIFA  Soccer 2006, and Half Life: Counter-Strike 1.6 while FreeStyle, a popular Korean basketball game were added as a special tournament game title.

Among the 14 Chinese representatives of Team China, XIAOFENG LI, the defending champion in WarCraft III of WCG 2005 Grand Final in Singapore, and Luo Xian, a StarCraft pro-gamer who works in a Korean pro-gaming team, are also included.



In addition, more than 5,000 spectators and 100 media visited the Chinese National Final to watch the best-skilled performance of the players and QQ.com, one of biggest online portal sites in China, provided real-time streaming service of the National Final for game fans who could not visit the venue.
