The Averatec|Intel GOM Classic is beginning its third season March 29th, 2009. The players will be competing for a grand prize of 40 million won. Second place will recieve 15 million won, third and fourth will recieve 5 million won each. And all the action will be brought to us, live, by Nick "Tasteless" Plott and "SuperDanielMan" Lee.

The match list for season 3 is 124 players strong, a reduction from last season's 180 players, yet the field is as wide open as it was in season one. The reason? MBCGame HERO, OnGameNet SPARKYZ, eSTRO and inexplicably, SK Telecom T1 have all decided to pass on participating. This disappointing news means, of course, that last season's champ, (P)Bisu, will not be defending his title!
