It is not very often that people get the chance to try out to become a professional in a certain sport by being able to practice with the very own people they watch everyday and admire.
IEG is giving people this great opportunity because they want professional gaming to grow not only inside Korea but outside of it as well.
The only way for gaming to really be worldwide is to have people on a team that are from different places in the world, or as we call them in the scene, foreigners.
The ultimate goal is to have at least one foreigner on every pro team, whether or not it will happen in Starcraft 1, it will surely happen in Starcraft 2, so we are just trying to speed up the process a bit.
About the training process
We want anyone and everyone who has had an interest in becoming a professional Starcraft player in Korea to speak up and send us an email on your passion for the game, some background information on how you got into Starcraft, and your bnet names on the servers you go to as well as your other contact information for when we set up the matches.
We will be having tryouts two times per week, two hours per day, by a different Pro Gamer each time.
This is not just a one or two week event, it will be something that is ongoing, this works best so people have enough time to get in shape and don’t have to worry about rushing into a match before you’re prepared.
The maps will be focused on the latest maps from the current Pro League lineup.
There will be live casts for all matches which will be casted by Artosis.
A data list of every game, gamer, apm, play style, good habits, and bad habits will be collected and used towards picking the best qualified person for a spot on the pro team.
Just like the Multi Site Tour (MST), we are looking for the best of the best and want to make sure that the people who have what it takes in Starcraft are getting the chance to prove themselves and show the world what they practice for everyday.
If all goes well, we will end up having more events throughout the week to give more people a chance to compete.
