(CNN) -- Osama bin Laden is dead, sources told CNN Sunday night.
A senior U.S. official tells CNN that Osama bin Laden was killed by the U.S. forces in a mansion outside the Pakistani capital of Islamabad along with other family members.
Congressional and administration sources say U.S. officials have the body of bin Laden. Further details around his death were not immediately available.
U.S. President Barack Obama is expected to address the nation shortly.
I really hope this is true. I'm waiting anxiously for the President's address. I'm not much for the "an eye for an eye" mentality, but I can't say there's any part of me that would be sad to know this psychopath no longer draws breath.
I just wish I believed his death would really change anything in the big scheme of things, but I have a feeling some other nutjob is already in place to take up the reins. less
usarosk71 He got killed in Islamabad, Pakistan. Was living in a mansion it seems. I am sure he was living like a king there since 9/11. And Pak govt. and military doesn't know?. Pakistan is THE TERRORIST STATE.

Mujahidd The world wants physical confirmation done by Bin laden's family members and an independent DNA test done by an independent panel of international forensic specialists. if the US government and the CIA and the Pakistan government are the only ones saying bin laden is dead, I will not believe it.

Today is a good day but before I start dancing I need 3 confirmations. First, I need to see his dead body all bloody with one of our soldiers holding up today newspaper in there hand. Second, I need his mother confirming that her Crackhead son is dead. Third, I need a DNA test (not done by Americans or any Talibans) maybe the Canadians to do the test of mother and dead son to see it is a match. After that , I will be satisfied. Lol less
