Mondo Bongo是西班牙语，在西班牙语，Mondo是巨大的意思，而Bongo是小鼓（和您所说的一样），合起来是“大鼓”的意思。Mondo Bongo其实是哥伦比亚古老的原住民音乐（西班牙语是哥伦比亚的语言），它真实的意思是“奔放与狂野”，引申自当地居民娱乐喜庆时演奏用的大鼓。
